Seiko Green Monster

SEIKO Green Monster

With the large numbers of watches in the market today, Swiss's made suppose to be the biggest share when consider in the value. In the other hand, if consider in numbers, Japanese's brand, Seiko, should be in the first place. Seiko's watches made for almost every level of market's demand. What ever the cheapest one which is starting from less than 30US$ or the most expensive one which is cost more than 3,000US$ or limited editions for those collectors. One of the famous collection is the Monster, named by the collectors because there appearance is look so thick and tough like a monster. In fact, the early day of this model introduced, they were not available in Thailand's market. Some of Thai's collector bought it abroad. After being well known, Seiko's representative decided to introduce to Thailand's market. Finally this year, Seiko announced the new Green Monster and it is in my hand now.

After Monster getting popular in Thailand, Seiko introduced many Monster's series and this year the special edition announced with the limited number, only 1,881 pieces and just only for Thai's fan. Of cause, they sold out in a short time.

This new model come with a light green dial, I think this is the most beautiful Monster ever. Detail is seems like many other Monsters but there is a crystal glass for date/day, polished dial ring and free mini torch in the box set. They have a good assembly quality. Solid stainless steel bracelet looks tough but the log is a bit too thin.

40mm basel diameter, 13mm thick together with a pretty thick bracelet made the watch a bit heavy. With a heavy watch, the strap need a well designed to fit with the wrist. It is fine after I have trial wearing it. I like those big luminescence, they give a big glow. The crystal for date/day make it easy to read. Easy to adjust day/date but the winder positions at 4 O'clock is not pretty good to use. It is ok in the overall.

The standard model Monster is impressive for me in the view of low price and good quality. The special editions is cost almost double, I do not have any intension to pay more for the only difference dial colors but it is depends. If you are a Monster's fan, you may need to pay.
